Alma Thomas
Inspired Art

The African America Artist and teacher born in 1891 was the first African American woman to have a solo exhibition at New York's Whitney Museum of American Art, and have her paintings at the White House three times. Our young artists explored the life and works of Alma Thomas in a few different ways creating first a grid pattern out of ripped paper and then crafting a heart shape in a similar style of the artist (as always adding their own flair to their piece).
